OWO is taking over October. Wanna help us break the internet?

October 1, 2026

Five years ago, something beautiful happened in Kantamanto.

What started in 2022 as an organic celebration of fashion, creativity, community and upcycling has grown into OWO, a festival created by, for and with the Kantamanto community.

And this year, we’re doing things a little differently. We want to break the internet with OWO.

We want October to be full of Kantamanto, upcycling, fashion, music, art, culture, commerce, community, joy, ideas, chaos, creativity and possibility. Obroni Wawu October started in Accra, but you don’t have to be in Accra to help us break the Internet. We want OWO on your feed, in your group chats, on your TikTok, in your Stories, in your WhatsApp statuses, in your conversations and everywhere else people are looking.

And we're recruiting you to help us do it.

Our fifth edition culminates on Sunday, October 25th at Untamed Empire in Accra, where we’ll bring together upcyclers, designers, artists, musicians, makers, cultural workers and the wider public for The Upcycling Bazaar, a celebration of the market that already exists and the people who have been building it all along.

This year, we're joined by five incredible cultural forces, each bringing a different audience, energy and piece of the world we're building at OWO.

Over the next two weeks, we'll be introducing them one by one and showing you exactly what they're bringing to Obroni Wawu October.

First up: the Centside Boys.

CENTSIDE BOYS | THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS

Born in Kantamanto and raised in its energy, Centside Boys are the children of Kanta - artists, skaters, filmmakers, musicians and upcyclers who have turned creativity into a way of life. Their work is rooted in freedom: freedom to make, to experiment, to move through the city on their own terms and to imagine something different from what already exists.

They represent a generation that doesn't need permission to create its own culture. And that's exactly the energy they're bringing to OWO.

On October 4th, Centside Boys will bring that spirit back to where OWO began, taking over Hendin Court for the OWO Block Party, bringing music, art, fashion and Kanta energy together in the heart of the shoe yard.

But their role goes beyond the party. Throughout October, they'll be helping take Kanta to the streets of Accra, carrying the OWO story, building buzz and inviting a new generation into the Upcycling Bazaar.

SO… HOW CAN YOU HELP?

This is where you come in.

Throughout October, we'll be sending you content, stories, videos, graphics, campaign moments and things you can share with your own communities.

Post it. Repost it. Remix it. Tag your friends. Put it on your Story. Send it to the group chat. Make your own content. Tell people why you're coming.

If you're a designer, wear OWO.

If you're a photographer, photograph it.

If you're a creator, create with us.

If you're a business, tell your customers.

If you're a fashion lover, shop OWO.

If you're just someone who believes the world needs to pay closer attention to what is happening in Kantamanto make some noise. And include the hashtags - #TheUpcyclingBazaar #RoadtoOWO26

Essentially, we’re asking you to help us tell this story.

Let's break the internet!

And remember to follow the OWO experience at @obroniwawuoctober

We'll see you at The Upcycling Bazaar - Sunday, October 25th at Untamed Empire.
